Once a month we like to compile a list of our favorite social media stories from the past few weeks and share them again with you so you never miss a thing — even when you’re not logged in. What happened in September? Let’s review.
The new Notes feature has arrived on Facebook. Might be a good time to update that list of 25 facts about yourself you shared seven years ago, now that it will look a lot more like a blog post.
Our most visual social platforms seem to have something on other networks. Pinterest announced it’s hit 100 million monthly users worldwide, and Instagram officially has 80 million more users than Twitter.
Facebook may be getting a dislike button? Not sure if we like that or not. Just don’t fall for any of the scams claiming the button is currently rolling out as an invite-only feature.
We’re one step closer to teleportation with this month’s video updates. Periscope added landscape mode, and Facebook has made sharing 360-degree videosa thing.
It’s rumored that Twitter has plans to get rid of its signature 140-character limit — or at least create a loophole product that would allow users to publish longer messages.
Snapchat’s latest update introduced a new Lenses feature and rainbow tongues. It also allowed users the new option to pay to replay. 99 cents buys you a second chance at rewatching three snaps one more time.
Maybe it has something to do with its recent updates, but Snapchat is now hitting around 4 billion views a day — that’s right up there with Facebook’s stats.
Did you hop on the “Peanutize Me” train? Our whole team did.
Shopping via Facebook too? It’s true. Soon you should be able to browser-window shop on your favorite brands’ pages.
Instagram is set to open its advertising platform to all types and sizes of businesses around the world on Sept. 30 (hey, that’s today!). This is music to our marketing ears.
And the Instagram perks for brands just keep on coming. Instagram finally teamed up with HootSuite this month and made it possible to schedule posts in advance.
The Sept. 9 annual Apple Event was kind of a big deal. Here are all the details you’ll care about as a marketer.
Oh, and these screaming ducks on Vine were kind of a big deal too.
