Hurrdat Introduces Three New Interns

We’ve got some news and some new friends we’d like you to meet.

We’re excited to share that we’ve added Julia Jackson, Shelby Rohlff, and Matthew Holt to our team for the fall. This is our third group of interns to join our crew under the internship program we established in January, but this semester, we’re doing things a little differently.

Last fall, we took a critical look at our internship program and set out to develop one that would give aspiring digital marketers a real taste of agency life. We modeled our internship roles after real positions at our company, complete with the same responsibilities we assign our full-time employees. As a team, our interns would spend their semester taking full ownership over one account and its campaigns.

Like anything in else we do in digital marketing, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve our internship program. After making a few structural changes this summer to more closely integrate the Hurrdat and B² Interactive teams, we made a few more tweaks to our internship program, too.

This fall, we’re still bringing on three interns to develop a campaign for a local nonprofit, but we’ve switched up their positions to better model the current ones in our new agency structure. Julia, Shelby, and Matt are all great fits for our remodeled roles, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll do in the next few months.

Julia Jackson – Social Media Intern

Julia is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in journalism and minoring in English. As the assistant engagement editor of The Daily Nebraskan, Julia already has some experience crafting social posts for Facebook and Twitter in the newsroom. Now she’ll get a chance to learn what kind of social posts work in the marketing world.

In her free time, Julia enjoys perusing Instagram, Pinterest, and various food blogs — oh, and checking out Chrissy Teigen’s Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Shelby Rohlff – Research & Analytics Intern

As an advertising and psychology double major with a specific interest in research, Shelby’s a perfect fit for her position. She also currently attends UNL and was a member of the university’s National Student Advertising Competition team.

Shelby’s a big fan of coffee and ice cream, and you can find her at Ivanna Cone at least three times a week. She also enjoys a good book and reruns of “New Girl.”

Matt Holt – Graphic Design Intern

Matt joined our team with his college diploma already in hand. He graduated from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul last December with a degree in graphic design. Matt lives and breathes design, and even works on his own projects in his free time — sometimes even with friends.

When he isn’t designing, Matt enjoys exploring new coffee shops and photo spots, as well as a good game of Catan.
